Based in Rome, Italy, Apparel Network, S.r.l. provides end-to-end services to companies seeking to off-shore their manufacturing operations, particularly to China. Within the country they’ve had considerable success working with some big name fashion brands, especially in the “street wear” sector. Due to an increasingly difficult Italian market brought on by years of economic crisis, the company was seeking to expand their operations to the United States.

Panoptic’s Melissa Cahill presented at this weekend’s WordCamp New York City 2012.  The topic was “Do it Yourself SEO w/WordPress”  and the session proved to be tremendously popular — standing room only on Saturday and Mel was asked to repeat the presentation on Sunday.  And the room filled up on Sunday, too!

Think about it: why are people visiting in the first place?  Because they want to know what your business has to offer them and how your products or services are superior to those of your competitors.

The content of your site needs to be engaging and informative for your potential customers, but it also needs to be search engine-friendly. What’s the point of having a website if nobody can find it?
